Walnut trim,
Brass Bow Eye, Modern style
Chestnut deck crowned and undercut

Seat installed using risers instead of bolts.  The riser is fastened to the hull using screws at each rib.   Seat risers allow the seat to be set lower in deeper canoes.  This is a secure way of installing the seat and avoids the need to use extremely long bolts which add considerable torque to the gunnels.

Hand caned seat using either natural strand or synthetic.  The front edge of the seat frame is 1/2" wider than the rest of the frame, and is treated to a significant bevel.  This bevel adds considerable comfort to the paddlers backside.
