Cruiser
"The only Major/Minor problem is that when other people see the boat either on the water or on top of my racks on the car, they are amazed at the fit and finish and the incredible aesthetics of the boat, and they just have to ask "where did you get such a beautiful canoe?" As I mentioned, and truly without any exaggeration, when putting the canoe in the more accessible lakes or rivers, some people stop or spin around and start asking all kinds of questions..." David McGee, Attelboro, MA.
The Cruiser is built upon the same mould as the Pleasure, the only difference being that it is two inches deeper all around, and that the sheer line has a straighter run as it rises to the stem. The Cruiser is an ideal tandem canoe for trips of modest duration, or as a solo for extended traveling. The Cruiser has a flattened shallow arch bottom coupled with a soft chine area that is just the right balance for a canoe if this width. A moderate amount of rocker ensures that this canoe is not too demanding to handle when loaded or empty. Clean waterlines ensure efficient movement through the water. A nice attribute of the 34" beam is that this canoe is not too wide to paddle solo from a center seat position, in fact, a center seat is a popular option.

Care and maintenance of a Wood & Canvas canoe
The following report does such a good job of describing the character of this canoe that I can hardly do better:
"I thought that I would drop you a note regarding the outstanding canoe that you built for "me to use". I REALLY ENJOY this beautiful, functional canoe. It is a work of ART and it has outstanding initial and secondary stability if that is possible in a single design. The canoe tracked very well, and yet was very easy to turn from the center seat/kneeling position. It moves almost effortlessly across the water, and it is so silent that I can move up quite close to wildlife and "glass" the subject or photograph it before either being detected or making a deliberate minor noise in moving off.
I would be very pleased to receive inquiries from anyone who wanted the "straight scoop" on what it is like to share in the use of "Red River Gliding Art". My wife Lynn and I used your/our canoe last year locally and in Vermont, on secluded lakes and also included some friends. With three adults, our small dog, and plenty of gear, the boat is very capable and rides higher than I expected, and yet is still very easy to control and really very swift. The only Major/Minor problem is that when other people see the boat either on the water or on top of my racks on the car, they are amazed at the fit and finish and the incredible aesthetics of the boat, and they just have to ask "where did you get such a beautiful canoe?" As I mentioned, and truly without any exaggeration, when putting the canoe in the more accessible lakes or rivers, some people stop or spin around and start asking all kinds of questions, - like "what kind of surface is on it" or "is that a hard like you know fiberglass - it's so smooth"!!?? Some other persons, those who have canoes, walk by - slow down, eyeball the boat, I mean - they really eyeball this boat, - look at me or my wife and move on - usually with a plastic canoe, or kayak. Many thanks again for your skill and dedication to excellence."
