New Canoes

We all dream of escaping the demands of everyday life and the zoom-zoom of noisy, hectic, modern living.  There's something about getting out in nature in a wood & canvas canoe - it just seems to fit right in.  In a wood & canvas canoe we feel more connected to the natural world around us.

If you've been thinking about investing in a new wood & canvas canoe, chances are you've been thinking about it for a long time.  You've probably been a paddler for many years, and you know what you want in a canoe.

You've studied spec. charts for lots of canoe, you've been researching builders, and now you're ready to make a decision on a builder and canoe.  Its a big investment and you want to make sure that you're getting good value and that you're choosing the canoe model that's right for you.  You also want to be sure that you're choosing the right builder, one who is trustworthy and one whose workmanship is up to the high standards that you've come to expect.

We've tried to present our work as clearly, completely, and as accurately as possible in order for you to make an informed decision.  After all, its not likely that you'll have the opportunity to test paddle one of our canoes.

We'd like to be your canoe builder.

After all,  you're not just buying a utilitarian boat,  you're investing in the canoe of your dreams, the canoe that you'll pass on as a treasured family heirloom.

At Red River Canoe & Paddle, we're not just making canoes, we're making history.  We've seen a lot of old canoes come through the shop for repair, most all of them have been "In the Family" for years, sometimes for generations.  We'd love nothing better than to have your new Red River Canoe live on as a "Vessel of Memories" for subsequent generations to have restored.
