The work required to restore this canoe has been explained to me and I agree that Red River Canoe & Paddle will execute the work according to and detailed within the accompanying fee schedule. I understand that this is an old canoe and as such can never be completely returned to original condition.
Red River Canoe & Paddle guarantees our work against faulty workmanship. We will repair, at our cost, including time and materials but not including the cost of transportation, work that we agree to be below that which is considered to be "Industry Standard". In the event of a disagreement between Red River Canoe & Paddle and the owner as to what constitutes an "Industry Standard", the decision shall rest with an independent arbiter who shall be a person skilled and experienced with the work and materials that have been utilized in the construction of wood & canvas canoes. The choice of this person shall be mutually agreed upon by the builder and the owner.
While we will always choose materials that are of high quality, we are not responsible for materials which fail to meet their claim of performance.
Any damage that is the result of wear and tear or poor handling and storage, etc., will be the responsibility of the owner.
I agree to indemnify and save harmless Red River Canoe & Paddle against any and all claims, actions or lawsuits by any person for loss, damage, or injury, personal or otherwise, arising out of or relating to the use or operation of this canoe.
Safe handling, transportation, and storage significantly increase the life span of the canoe. Sheltered storage alone can often double the life span of the canvas skin. Year-round, unsheltered, outdoor storage should result in a skin life span of approximately 10 years.
