Tone Ports do not degrade the tone of the instrument. Their greatest function is to act as a "monitor" to the player, allowing some of the sound to project towards the players ear.
Birds eye maple with added curly grain.
Most Selmers used open slots for tuners, in the style of classical guitars. The birds eye maple model used a conventional solid headstock.
Styled after Mozzani. Mario Macaferri the initiator of the Selmer guitars, (though he had left the complany by the time the Jazz models were being produced) had worked for Mozzani and was influenced by him.
